About

Need someone to walk in tandem with you to sort it all out? I can help.

The experience of engaging with a therapist for the first time or re-engaging after a pause can feel foreign, intimidating, and uncertain. I aim to meet clients exactly where they are with a warm, comforting approach that eases them in at a pace that they set, while making sure the time together feels rewarding, fulfilling, occasionally challenging, and well-spent. I enjoy walking alongside clients on their journeys of successes and struggles, transitions and decisions. I am excited to have some space open in my practice to welcome new clients. Feel free to reach out by email, text message, or phone call to explore next steps. You can also view my calendar and request an appointment right from my website. My hope is that clients will come to appreciate their sessions as dedicated time with a trusted confidante to focus solely on themselves. Sessions should be a place for clients to unpack their thoughts and burdens so that they can return to the rest of their week a bit lighter, and with helpful insights to guide their steps. Some of the topics that most often bring clients to see me include: trauma & PTSD, life & career transitions, relationship concerns, managing chronic/serious health condition/diagnosis of self/loved one (particularly ALS), intimate partner violence & sexual assault, grief, anxiety, depression, codependency, sleep concerns, stress, couples counseling, overall wellness, and sexual identity concerns. I work primarily with adults, elders, and college-aged individuals, and serve as a clinical supervisor for LCSWAs. I provide couples counseling and family therapy, particularly for families who have a loved one diagnosed with ALS. The approaches that I use when working with clients are always a thoughtfully and uniquely tailored evidence-based eclectic blend, woven together by the rhythm of the therapeutic relationship and the concerns that clients most want to focus on. Treatment approaches are always developed in tandem with clients. Approaches often include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement & Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), etc. I am licensed in North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, and Illinois, so can see clients located in any of these states. For those seeking ALS Wellness services (those where either self or a loved one has ALS), those services can be offered nationwide. I have experience in a variety of settings including emergency rooms, hospital-based trauma programs, college counseling centers, college health centers, larger mental health companies, and in private practice.
